Toronto – Today is the last of the intesne two-day mission sponsored by the Chamber of Commerce of Reggio Emilia in favor of twenty Reggio companies active in the food sector. A delegation of traders met with local counterparts from the United States and Canada, two of the most interesting markets for cheese exports. The US, in fact, already ranks third (after Germany and France) on the list of Reggio Emilia food exports, with €620 million in value, and particularly relevant growth forecasts. The data for the past four years are explicit: from 2011 to 2014, Reggio exports rose in double-digit percentages, closing 2014 with a + 14.1%. There’s a similar scenario for Canada, which ranks twenty-first for Reggio chees exports. Despite a slight decrease in 2014 (from €99 million to €93 million), presents development opportunities are encouraging, thanks to the strong appreciation of Reggio products and a GDP growth for 2015 around 2.3%.
