Saint Tropez – The logo of the University of Siena will feature on the hull of Katia, the boat that from 17 June takes part in the offshore regatta “Giraglia Rolex Cup”, organized by the Italian Yacht Club. From Saint Tropez to Genoa, a non-stop route of 241 miles, the regatta is the most important challenge of its kind in the Mediterranean. Economics Professor Maurizio Pompella, a member of the Velico Castiglionese Club Castiglione del Lago (PG), and sailing instructor, is the official skipper. In exchange for the logo of the University of Siena, the Katia crew (racing on a Swan 39) can count on the support of the University’s sporting community, active in the promotion among students of many high level sports.
