San Paolo – The inauguration is scheduled for 18 July, but the retrospective exhibition “Marino Marini: from Archaism to the end of form” will remain open until September 27 at the Art Gallery of the State of São Paulo. The exhibition is the first retrospective in Brazil on the Italian artist, internationally known for his sculptures in bronze, but still today one of the biggest names of contemporary Italian art. The exhibition, curated by Alberto Salvadori, will present to the public Marini’s artistic production: 33 sculptures and 43 painting as well as drawings, for a total of 76 works representing various periods of his career. The initiative was organized by the Pinacoteca di San Paolo in collaboration with the Italian Cultural Institute, and involves two institutions dedicated to the works of the Italian sculptor: the Pistoia Foundation, and the eponymous museum in Florence.
