Katowice – Salini Impregilo won a contract worth € 170 million for the design and construction of 20.270 kilometers of a stretch of the A1 motorway, south of Warsaw, in the City of Katowice. The work is financed partly with EU funds and partly with public funds from Poland. Construction, which will last a total of 33 months, includes three interchanges (Rząsawa, Lgota, and Blachownia), 4 bridges, one railway bridge and 21 viaducts. The road surface will be built entirely in concrete. This is yet another award for the Italian Group in Poland, increasing the value of its backlog in the Eastern European country to more than € 500 million. (9Colonne)
