Washington – “War and Art – Destruction and Protection of Italy’s Cultural Heritage during the First World War” is a photographic exhibition open until August 5 at the President Woodrow Wilson House in Washington DC. The exhibition was organized by the Institute for the History of the Italian Risorgimento of Rome, the Italian Embassy, and the Italian Cultural Institute in Washington, in collaboration with the Italian Cultural Institute of Chicago. The photographs illustrate the struggle of the Italian people to protect their cultural heritage from the ravages of war. These are poignant images that, after a hundred years, have become works of art. (9Colonne)
