Aleppo – Erica Beuzer recently traveled from Bologna to Aleppo, Syria, where she works with the NGO GVC Bologna. Fighting between government and opposition groups makes life unbearable for the Syrian population, creating generations of refugees. In the city, water and fuel are scarce and all food and other goods are carried through the only road still accessible. GVC is one of 18 NGOs in the world to be authorized by the Red Crescent to operate in Syria. Its activities are concentrated in Aleppo, which was the economic capital of Syria and the most populous governorate. (9colonne)
