31 August, 2015 – Grana Padano Riserva won the gold medal in the category ‘hard Italian cheese’ at the International Cheese Awards of Nantwich, a kind of “Oscar” for cheese held every year in England. The success was celebrated by Stefano Berni, General Director of the Grana Padano Consortium: “For all of us, it is excellent news that confirms the excellence of our cheese, a symbol of Made in Italy quality worldwide. The event in Nantwich represents the most important for cheeses in the United Kingdom, as well as being one of the most certified worldwide.” A jury of qualified experts indicated Grana Padano Riserva as the best product in the hard cheese category, calling it “a great example of Italian hard cheese: a long maturation, balanced taste with a nice hint of caramel and not too dry.”
