September 8th, 2015 – It’s a double honor for Professor Laura Auteri, elected President of the Internationale Vereinigung für Germanistik – International Association of German Studies (IVG) for 2015-2020. Auteri was elected at the Congress held in Shanghai. “Auteri – explains the University of Palermo, for which she teaches within the Department of the Humanities . is the first Italian at the helm of the IVG, and the first woman to chair the Association. Her appointment testifies to the role of Germanic Studies in Italy, as well as to the importance in this field of universities from southern Italy, and particularly the University of Palermo, a more than adequate temporary headquarters of the IVG. ” (Red)
