Lisbon – On the occasion of the International Year of Light, from tomorrow until January 9 Lisbon’s Millennium Foundation hosts the exhibition “Within Light / Inside Glass”, organized by Vicarte, the research unit of the Department of Sciences of Lisbon New University. Organized with the support of the Italian Cultural Institute of Lisbon, the display centers around light, glass and their artistic and technical-scientific interaction. In it, 15 artists (including the Italians Enrico Tommaso de Paris, Silvano Rubino and Cesare Toffolo) explore the reciprocal influences between the two elements, from a formal and conceptual point of view. Using neon or natural light, borosilicate glass for micro and macro sculptures, traditional techniques of Murano or new technologies, photography, painting and drawing, luminescence and transparency… the artists animate by the exhibition spaces as they did last spring in Venice, at the Palazzo Loredan’s headquarters of the Istituto Veneto.
