Tokyo – The Chamber of Commerce of Udine is promoting, inside the Italian Pavilion of the Italian Trade Agency, the participation of local companies in the 41st edition of Foodex Japan, scheduled in Tokyo 8-11 March 2016. By participating in Foodex Japan, companies will be able to consolidate their presence and increase the Italian supply with a more qualified and diversified offer. Foodex Japan is considered the most important exhibition in the agribusiness sector in Japan, and it’s a great event for trade across the Asia Pacific region. Despite policies implemented by the economic and monetary authorities, which led to an increase of the consumption tax, in 2014 food and wine imports from Italy amounted ¥108.792 million, for a 14.9% increase over the previous year. The typical Japanese consumer is loyal to the product but is also increasingly curious about traditional agro-food products being presented for the first time in Japan. During the 2015 edition of Foodex Japan, the Italian Pavilion hosted more than 150 exhibitors over an area of 2,000 square meters, making it the largest foreign presence. (9Colonne)
