October 12th, 2015 – “More often than not, the magic of a film comes the notes of its soundtrack. The greatest composers of Italian film music are often inseparable from the masterpieces of Sergio Leone, Brian De Palma, Roman Polanski, Giuseppe Tornatore, Franco Zeffirelli… ” This is how the Italian Cultural Institute of Montreal presents an evening with “the most beautiful soundtracks of Italian cinema.” The event is promoted in collaboration with the Embassy of Italy in Ottawa and Carlton University, and is scheduled for Saturday, October 24 at 7.30pm at the Kailash Mital Theatre of Carlton University. The evening will be a tribute to some of the most memorable soundtracks of Italian cinema, with Maestro Enzo De Rosa on the piano and soprano Isabelle Metwalli, who will perform live famous songs from the repertoire of composers like Nino Rota, Nicola Piovani, Ennio Morricone, and Luis Enriquez Bacalov. Isabelle Metwalli is a soprano from Quebec who graduated in singing at the University of Montreal, and has been performing for over twenty years in operas and recitals.
