Madrid – Madrid welcomed today the Steering Committee of COPEAM (Permanent Conference of the Mediterranean Audiovisual), which reunited at RTVE, the Spanish public broadcasting company for their annual meeting. The meeting, coordinated by TéléLiban President and COPEAM President, Talal El Makdessi, saw the participation of the radio members of the Steering Committee: RAI, INA / France, CyBC / Cyprus, EPTV / Algeria, ERTU / Egypt, France Télévisions, HRT / Croatia, PBC / Palestine, Radio France, Radio Tunisienne, RTVE / Spain, SNRT / Morocco, SRR / Romania, and TRT / Turkey. The Committee discussed COPEAM past and ongoing activities and projects, including the collaboration with the BBC for a project in favor of gender equality in the media on the southern shores of the Mediterranean, the new co-production broadcast on women and migration in the Mediterranean, and the new television series of documentaries, “Inter-Rives V” on “Stories of travels and seas”. The members also decided on the organization of the next Annual COPEAM Conference, to be held in Ajaccio, on the invitation of the Corsica Region, April 7-9, 2016 on the theme “What future for young people in the Mediterranean? – The contribution of the media”.
