October 22nd, 2015 – “With ‘Cinema,’ I made a wish come true: it’s never been a secret that I always wanted to set up a recording project linked to soundtracks. If movies are a ‘dream factory’, music and scores is what supports them and concentrates all the magic and the vitality of love,” explains Andrea Bocelli. A great return for the Italian artist who more than any other has collected, for over twenty years, an endless series of international successes. Two years after the extraordinary reception of “Passione” (which won the Latin Billboard Latin Music Awards and for 10 consecutive weeks ranked at the top of Billboard Classic, second on the Billboard 200, in the top ten of the English ranking, and on the iTunes podium in over 30 countries), there is “Cinema.” The new recording project is dedicated to film music and will be released by the Sugar label in 75 countries tomorrow, 23 October. The album is Bocelli’s fifteenth studio, and is the result of tremendous teamwork of great artists that a decade prior had created the global success that was “Amore” : David Foster, Humberto Gatica and Tony Renis. Between duets and fascination linked to the big screen, “Cinema” contains a sequence that includes the most important outstanding achievements written for film, composed by musicians who shaped the history of entertainment in the 20th century: Leonard Bernstein, Andrew Lloyd Webber, Nino Rota, Ennio Morricone, Henry Mancini, Luis Bacalov, Irving Berlin and Nicola Piovani. “Applied” music, that is able to break free and beautifully shine in its own light.
