Nakhodka – Pirelli, Synthos and Rosneft signed today a Memorandum of Understanding relating to the positive results of the feasibility study carried out in April and to the future cooperation in the development of a project for the construction of a synthetic rubber plant in Nakhodka. “The successful completion of this phase – explains a statement from the group – marks another important step in the realization of a large-scale project aimed at creating a petrochemicals group with advanced technology in the Far East of Russia. By signing the MoU, the parties confirm their intention to create a joint venture between Rosneft and Synthos in the production of synthetic rubber in Nakhodka, with the creation of a research and development department with Pirelli regarding the materials for the production of tires. Ultimately, Pirelli would thus become the principal customer for synthetic rubber, as indicated on the understanding signed by Rosneft in 2014”. (9Colonne)
