London – A panel discussion on how to kick off a start-up and what Italy can learn from foreign experiences was organized by the Patronato INCA CGIL of London. The debate, supported by the PD London Group, saw the participation of Hon. Bosio (PD), Hon. Quintarelli (Scelta Civica), Mattia Corbetta from the Ministry of Economic Development, Marcello Battistig (Patent Office, the Netherlands) and researchers from British Universities. There was some discussion on funds for international growth for start-ups operating in IT and the Italian experiences were compared with those in the UK. The session was coordinated by the PD London Secretary Alberto Stasi. Among the problems identified, there were some aspects of the ‘national economy’ (high taxes, heavy administrative rigidities and labor costs etc.) which act as strong disincentives for investment.
