Khartoum – The issue of migration was debated at length by the Deputy Director General for Development Cooperation, the Plenipotentiary Minister Fabio Cassese, during his visit to Sudan. Last November, the Khartoum Process was signed in Rome, bringing together representatives of the Member States of the European Union, the countries of the Horn of Africa, as well as South Sudan, Sudan, Tunisia, Kenya and Egypt. The goal of the process is to boost cooperation and stem and control human trafficking, taking action on the factors that trigger migration. Sudan, in this sense, is a strategic partner to work on initiatives that can be of help in building a structured policy dialogue and operational management on migration. (9Colonne)
