November 10th, 2015 – It was more than just applause: it was a standing ovation and an endless series of rave reviews for “Romeo and Juliet. Love and change the world” in Turkey. The last performance in Istanbul of the most popular and acclaimed musical throughout Italy – a unique show that brings to life in a totally new key the most famous love story in the world thanks to the talent of an exceptional cast, the sumptuous sets, video projections and an extraordinary ballet company and acrobats – returned to Turkey by popular demand after last year’s huge success. Eight extraordinary performances, all sold out, took place in one of the most modern theaters of Europe, opened just three years ago in the Zorlu Center. Every evening, a standing ovation greeted the artists and dancers, with applause for over 15 minutes. The press and all the Turkish media called it the blockbuster produced by David Zard and directed by Giuliano Peparini, “the best show and the most beautiful and futuristic production” that the Zorlu Theatre Center has ever seen, better than the original Broadway productions of Cats, Phantom of the Opera, Beauty and the Beast, Jersey Boys and Mamma Mia.
