November 20th, 2015 – As part of the Literature Festival of Munich, on November 22 at 7pm, the St. Markus Kirche (Gabelsbergerstraße 6) hosts an encounter between two authors: Andrea Di Nicola and Michael Richter on the topic “Escape routes”. The event, both in German and Italian, will be moderated by the literary critic and author Maike Albath. Organized by Literaturfest München in cooperation with Evangelische Stadtakademie, the Italian Cultural Institute in Munich and Forum Italia eV, the event will be an opportunity to talk about immigration policy. “Among indignation and compassion? The criminalist Andrea Di Nicola and film producer Michael Richter discuss with Maike Albath current immigration policies”, explains the Institute of Culture on its website. Andrea Di Nicola, criminologist, journalist and professor at the University of Trento with Giampaolo Musumeci, has researched the main routes of illegal migration, collected in “Confessions of a smuggler.” Recruiters, smugglers, renters of illegal housing, and moneylenders – the protagonists of this “travel agency” openly speak of criminal millionaire businesses. Michael Richter has been studying immigration policies for over a decade. In his work, he highlights the situation in the countries of origin, and analyzes political directives. Can Europe, and especially Germany, afford to not accept refugees? (Red)
