November 24th, 2015 – Italy’s art, history, charm, passion, and culture aren’t the only ambassadors of Italy abroad. Dance, as represented by the National Historical Dance Company directed by Nino Graziano Luca, is now preparing to make a stop in Malaysia. The National Historical Dance Company will participate in the “Gran Balli dell’800” of the Charity Gala organized by the “Embrace the Gift of Life” association. On November 26, the Shangri La in Kuala Lumpur welcomes to the stage 10 dancers, who will enchant the audience and bring to life the atmospheres of Il Gattopardo and Strauss waltzes by performing “The Rose of the South” and “Fledermaus Quadrille”. The Company will present the best known representative pieces of Italy’s operatic tradition and classical Neapolitan melody, brought on stage by the soprano Paola Sanguinetti of the Teatro Regio di Parma and pianist Catia Capua of the Accademia Nazionale Santa Cecilia. “The event was born from a chance encounter in Rome with the Malaysian authorities during the Spring Dance – explained Nino Graziano Luca – who at that time were accompanied by noblewomen Biancamaria Caringi Lucibelli and Grazia Iannarelli. A special thanks goes to Dato’ Rosemarie Wee, Ms Florence Fang, Mr. Johari Abas and Dato’ Dr Ahmad Noordin who have been promoting our presence in Malaysia”. (PO / red)
