Nairobi – This morning, Pope Francis boarded an Alitalia flight that will take him to his first apostolic trip to Africa. The Holy Father will land in Nairobi at 5pm, but his experience with Alitalia will continue for all subsequent destinations: Entebbe (Uganda) on November 27 and Bangui (Central African Republic) on November 29. The apostolic journey will end on November 30, when the Pope will land at 6:45pm in Rome Ciampino Airport. The Pope will fly aboard an Airbus A330-200, a long-haul aircraft with a 250 seat capacity, an autonomy of 11,000 km, and a cruising speed of 900 kph. Since 1964, Alitalia has always been the air carrier of reference for the Holy Apostolic See in all foreign travels, since the history visit to the Holy Land in 1964 of Pope Paul VI. (9Colonne)
