November 26th, 2015 – Between the via Emilia and the East: the University of Modena and Reggio Emilia and Unioncamere Emilia-Romagna have set their minds on the East, signing a memorandum of understanding that wants to be an active cooperation policy between Italian academia and businesses to strengthen our country’s presence in Vietnam. The agreement expands the activities of the Vietnam desk set up by Unioncamere Emilia-Romagna, and entrusts Unimore with the task of organizing internships for students in Italian companies active in the Asian country: today there are many local businesses that need highly qualified personnel to be included in the productive activities in the Asian country, one of the gates to the market of the Economic Community made up of 10 countries in the region, destined to become one of the largest free trade areas in the world. “This agreement – said the Ambassador of Vietnam Cao Chinh Thien – not only gives students the opportunity to study Vietnamese and to enrich their knowledge and experience in an international working environment, but also demonstrates the strong development of bilateral relations between Vietnam and Italy in various fields.” The Ambassador of Italy in Vietnam, Cecilia Piccioni, speaking at the signing ceremony in video conference, defined the agreement as “further concrete proof virtuous partnerships between businesses, universities and territories that have been the subject of the Strategic Dialogue between Italy and Vietnam inaugurated by the President of the Republic, Sergio Mattarella, during his state visit to Vietnam two weeks ago. Entrepreneurs, students, researchers, teachers and organizations are at the center, and they are responsible for developing the strategic partnership between Italy and Vietnam”. (Nov. 26)
