Amman – The Italian Cooperation has approved the allocation of a voluntary emergency contribution of €760,000 in favor of the United Nations Fund for Children (UNICEF), to finance interventions in the education sector in Jordan, part of “No Lost Generation Initiative”, aimed at supporting children affected by the consequences of the Syrian crisis. The contribution supports a project called “All Children in Jordan Accessing Learning Opportunities”, which provides direct support to the local Ministry of Education to develop a series of activities in the field of education. Through collaboration with non-governmental organizations, children with disabilities and learning difficulties will also benefit by a series of targeted initiatives for better inclusion. The financial commitment of the Italian Cooperation to the Syrian crisis in 2015 amounts to approximately €18 million, while since the beginning of the conflict it has granted €84 million. (9Colonne)
