December 4th, 2015 – Some people called him “détective de la quotidienneté” (JL Pradel 1977), others “artisan de l’énigme” (P. Roegiers 1987). What is certain is that Sergio Ceccotti (born in Rome on 7 May 1935) is an Italian painter and engraver – active in Italy and especially in Paris – who left a mark in the history of art. Ceccotti has been for many years a reference point for Italian figurative painting that, from it “metaphysics tradition” of the early 20th century, is now an “avant-garde” at the threshold of the twenty-first century. Since 1960, Ceccotti has held many personal exhibitions in various countries around the world: from Rome to Florence, passing by Naples and Brussels as well as Munich, Istanbul, Cairo, Tokyo and Melbourne. Sergio Ceccotti has often exhibited in Argentina where, in the Rome hall of the Italian Cultural Institute of Buenos Aires remains open, until December 18, an exhibition dedicated to him: “Intimate Moments”. The exhibition was organized by the Institute and curated by Massimo Scaringella, (red)
