Miami – There’s a bit of ingenuity from the University of Pisa in the people mover of Miami, in the United States. The Department of Civil and Industrial Engineering of the University has collaborated with LEITNER, a leader in the industry, to create an innovative shopping “bogie” cart ” on which rest the cabins. “The group I coordinated – explained Professor Francesco Frendo of the University of Pisa – includes engineer Francesco Bucchi, research fellow at our University. We worked closely with the LEITNER simulation of dynamics for cable transport, aimed at optimizing the design of the bogie and suspension system, with particular attention to passenger comfort.” (9Colonne)
