28 December, 2015 – The exhibition “L’Italia e la diplomazia della Grande Guerra” will open on Jan. 14 at the Italian Cultural Institute of Brussels. The opening ceremony (scheduled for 7pm) will also welcome the curator of the display, professor Italo Garzia from the University of Bari. This historic documentary on the Great War is the result of the detailed archival work carried out by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, with the technical expertise of Professor Garzia and with the participation of the Archivio storico della Presidenza della Repubblica. The documents retrieved hold a great historical value: treaties, telegrams, confidential mails, pamphlets and manifestos. All documents have been displayed according to three thematic axes: the origins (Italian diplomacy between the principle of nationality and territorial security); the war (Diplomacy and propaganda); and the end of the conflict (Peace diplomacy). The display also features a virtual section with iconographic material donated from the Quirinale on the king, foreign policy and the transformation of the Palace in a Red Cross Hospital. (Red)
