Cologne – The Italian Cultural Institute of Cologne, for Passagen 2016, organizes 18-24 January a special exhibition dedicated to Venini, one of the most important historical glass workshops in Murano, which combines the great Italian glass tradition with modern forms of the leading Italian and international designers. In fact, since its foundation in 1921, Venini has collaborated with figures such as Vittorio Zecchin, Napoleone Martinuzzi, Carlo Scarpa, Alessandro Mendini, Ettore Sottsass, Gae Aulenti, Sandro Chia, and Fabio Novembre. The selection presented in Cologne was curated by Heiko Kalitowitsch, and combines the newest creations with classic pieces, united by the exaltation of light and color, with its transparency and opacity, making it unmistakably unique.
