Istanbul – Foreign Minister Paolo Gentiloni personally called his Turkish colleague Mevlut Çavuşoğlu, reasserting Italy’s closeness and solidarity to the victims, their families and the Turkish government for the attack in this morning. “Italy and Turkey – added Gentiloni – are more than ever committed to fight terrorism together”. The Foreign Minister of Turkey informed the Minister that the Turkish government still hasn’t acquired detailed information on the characteristics of the attack and its consequences. The Crisis Unit of the Foreign Ministry is working closely with the Consulate General of Italy in Istanbul to verify whether or not among the victims there were Italian citizens. (9Colonne)
