Amsterdam – The Secretary for Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, Benedetto Della Vedova, will speak today in Amsterdam at the informal meeting of EU Development Ministers. The meeting, chaired by High Representative Federica Mogherini, provides for an exchange of views on the development of the new EU global strategy in terms of relations with ACP countries (Africa, Caribbean, Pacific) after 2020 (when the Cotonou Agreement officially expires), and the link between migration and development. Also in Amsterdam, the EU Ministers for Trade will meet to discuss global value chains. “By adopting a new strategy for external action, which Member States are currently debating and will do as much until June – explains Della Vedova – the EU will have to take into account priorities such as the Mediterranean, migration, and the Western Balkans. The new strategy will also have as a framework the United Nations 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development. This is a starting point – concluded Della Vedova- to respond to global challenges collectively. “(9Colonne)
