Cairo – Italian olice officers, carabinieri and Interpol are making their way to Cairo, where they will arrive this afternoon to follow the investigation regarding the death of Giulio Regeni, trying to shed light on the dynamic of the events. The Friuli researcher had gone missing on January 25 in the Egyptian capital, and was later found dead with signs of torture on his body. “We trust in the collaboration with Egyptian authorities because President Al-Sisi committed to see things through,” stated Italian Foreign Affairs Minister Paolo Gentiloni, upon his arrival at the Informal Council of EU Foreign Ministers in Amsterdam.
