Perth – The Italian construction group Salini Impregilo will realize the fast train line between Forrestfield Airport and the city of Perth in Australia, kicking off construction work in July 2016, and concluding them by September 2020. The undertaking is a real challenge in a country with a forecast population growth of 46% by 2031 in its four largest cities, and where an efficient national railway system play a vital role in sustainable connections. The Salini Impregilo Group is already present in Australia via a joint venture with NRW for the construction of the North West Metro in Sydney: the largest public transport infrastructure project currently under way in Australia, and the largest in Sydney since the construction of Harbour Bridge, which took place nearly 100 years ago. The NorthWest Metro Sydney will be a railway line capable of serving the northwestern area of the city as it continues to grow, representing the first fully automated system for fast trains in the country.
