Rome – The death of Umberto Eco represents a terrible loss for Italian culture, as he was an artist who truly contributed to the knowledge and love of Italian art in the world. And so, the Italian Ministry of Foreign Affairs intends to protect the cultural, social and human heritage of his works, translated into 100 languages. To honor the art that Eco created, the Foreign Ministry reiterated that in 2016 the 80 Italian Cultural Institutes in the world will implement a series of initiatives, including conferences and events, dedicated to the wide repertoire of Eco’s works, involving local cultural personalities who knew and appreciated him.
