(24 February 2016) Diplomat and author Giuseppe Cassini is in Sweden to partake in an event organized by the Italian Embassy in collaboration with the Italian Cultural Institute. The presentation of Cassini’s latest book – entitled “17ᵃ agenzia. L’America al bivio: recuperare o recidere le gloriose origini pre-imperiali” – will take place on Monday March 7 at 6pm at the Institute’s headquarters. The volume is structured into three distinct and stylistically different parts, united by a careful and original analysis of a country “known less than one might think.” During the presentation, Cassini will engage in a debate with Italian Ambassador Elena Basile. Giuseppe Cassini is a former Italian diplomat who worked in Belgium, Algeria, Cuba, the United States, in Geneva, Somalia and as Ambassador to Lebanon. He is the author of “Gli anni del declino: La politica estera del governo Berlusconi” (2001-06) and of the e-book “Quella ‘stupida’ guerra in Iraq”. Today, Cassini writes regularly for Italian newspapers, and occasionally for the ‘Daily Star of Beirut’ and for the ‘Christian Science Monitor’ in Boston. (Red)
