(2 March, 2016) Graziano Arici has been an institution in the history of Venetian photography for nearly 40 years. But 66-year-old Venetian Graziano Arici is perhaps the biggest documentary filmmaker, photographer and culture archivist in Italy. The photographer focused his work on the world of culture and art, following for decades artists at work and creating tens of thousands of portraits that document global cultural life. Part of his immense archive, which contains almost a million photographs, is dedicated to portraits of artists. It also collects many tens of thousands of photographs from the 1940s to the present that represent all actors of world culture. Many of Arici’s photographs are on display at the Central Display Salon of Manezh (Manezhnaja pl Exhibition Hall., 1), historic building in central Moscow as part of the photography biennial in Moscow. Manezh is currently showcasing the exhibition “Graziano Arici. Venice. The culture of the world and its faces,” organized by the Italian Cultural Institute in Moscow in collaboration with Moscow House of Photography and MAМM. The exhibition will remain open until Thursday 17 March. (Red)
