(2 March 2016) Spreading knowledge of the Holy Shroud, from its historical to the scientific and religious aspects, is a goal in the year of the Mercy Jubilee. And so, the National Association of the Knights of Order of Merit of the Italian Republic ANCRI is collaborating with the Carabinieri National Association (ANC) and the Italian Cultural Institute in Valletta to organize a conference. With the patronage of the Italian Embassy in Malta, the group set up a seminar on “The Holy Shroud. Analysis of a mystery, testimony of a presence” scheduled for March 17 at 6pm in the lounge of the Cultural Institute. The event will see the Italian Ambassador to Malta, Giovanni Umberto De Vito, give a speech, while the conference will be preceded by the annual ceremony in which Ambassador De Vito will hand the Merit of the Italian Republic and the Order of the Italian Star to Maltese personalities recently recognized by the President of the Italian Republic. The Institute’s main hall will also display, for the occasion, a life-size copy of the Shroud. (Sip)
