Paris – Pizza has been nominated by Italy as an intangible heritage of humanity. The industry is worth €10 billion, but the final product is above all a symbol of national identity. The President of Coldiretti Roberto Moncalvo confirmed the news after the meeting of the National UNESCO Assessment Commission, which confirmed the nomination of the Naples’ pizza makers in the UNESCO Intangible Cultural Heritage List. Given the choice, we decided – continued Moncalvo – to support an extraordinary mobilization that will see Campagnia Amica markets throughout Italy collect the 1 million necessary signatures that will be presented on March 14, when the International Evaluation Commission will meet in Paris to discuss what makes it into the List of Intangible Cultural Heritage.
