(7 March 2016)”Women of the resistance” is the main topic of debate during a conference scheduled in Geneva for April 25. The National Association of Italian Partisans (ANPI) – Switzerland Section “Marcello Malentacchi” and the Comites of the Swiss city – under the patronage of the Consulate General of Italy – has organized for Liberation Day a conference-debate to shed light on “the effort and determination with which the female protagonists of the Resistance fought for the rights, the emancipation and freedom of women.” To explain the evolutions of the Italian Constitution, the movie ”La bimba col pugno chiuso” (directed by Claudio Di Mambro, Luca Mandrile and Umberto Migliaccio) will be screened. The film tells the story of Giovanna Marturano (1912-2013), a partisan, anti-fascist and top representative of the feminist movement. The screening and the following debate will be moderated by Giancarla Codrignani, Member of Parliament for three terms (Member of the Foreign Affairs and Defense Committees, and of the Commission for permission to proceed), also President of Donne per il Governo delle città and Councillor for gender issues nominated by Bologna mayor Walter Vitali. Her publications include “Le donne e la Costituzione” (ed. della Camera dei Deputati), “Memoria, paura, volontà, speranza” (ed. Anpi), “Letture al femminile della Costituzione” (ed.
