In this second series of interviews with great personalities from contemporary Italy, Franco Marcoaldi will meet talents in fields such as music, cinema, dance, photography, sports and science. Each portrait finds new life with the addition point of view of brand new friends and collaborators”. Marcoaldi, who will introduce each documentary and answer questions from the public, in the documentaries is not simply an interviewer but an investigator who delves into the stories of these characters and their passions, their talent and their idiosyncrasies, as well as the symbolic places of their lives. The characters chosen for the first rounds of interviews are Oscar-winners Paolo Sorrentino (The Great Beauty) and Nicola Piovani (Life is beautiful), followed by photographer Mario Dondero and dancer Alessandra Ferri. Famous sailor Giovanni Soldini and theoretical physicist Carlo Rovelli close this year’s round of Grand’Italia. The documentaries are directed by Simone Aleandri, in which each protagonist is flanked by a “special witness”, a friend, a coworker, a family-person, giving the public a further look on the character, offering new points of view on their lives and humanity. The protagonists, aided by a climate of confidence and spontaneity, reveal their most intimate aspects, discussing their everyday life, without filters and postures, giving alive and human image of his own existence.
