(25 March 2016) With “Il racconto dei racconti” by Matteo Garrone and “Quo Vado?” by Gennaro Nunziante (as well as “Latin lover” by Cristina Comencini, “Lea” by Marco Tullio Giordana, “Per amor vostro” by Giuseppe Gaudino), Italian cinema is back in Portugal, with the 8 ½ Festival of Italian Cinema. From March 30 to April 7, the Festival is now in its 9th edition and is organized by the Associazione Il Sorpasso, with the collaboration of the Italian Cultural Institute, the Cappella Underground of Trieste with the support of the Italian Embassy, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs (Cinema Directorate) and the Istituto Luce. At Cinema São Jorge, Cinemateca Portuguesa – Museu do Cinema and for the first time Cinema Uci – El Corte Inglés, the Festival offers a wide cultural and cinematic offer that covers a wide range of Italian trends and styles, from the great masters of the past to the modern and emerging artists. There are more than 40 films, including 9 national premieres, in the program: features, documentaries, shorts… All this with a side of genuine Italian style: music, literature, and food. (red)
