New York – The General Director of Italian Cooperation, Giampaolo Cantini, participated to the New York Forum on Financing for Development (FFD).We read on the website of the Italian Development Cooperation of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs: a debate organized under the auspices of Ecosoc that picks up the action agenda of Addis Ababa approved last July in the Ethiopian capital, during a high-level event which was attended by world leaders including, for Italy, the President of the Council, Matteo Renzi. “Thanks to the new Agency for Development Cooperation, that begins to operate from the first of January, and an important institute of public finance, the Cassa Depositi e Prestiti, that will start soon to operate as the Italian Bank for International Development, the Italian system of cooperation will pay particular attention to the more vulnerable countries (LCDs, Sids, fragile states), the fundamental nexus between migration and development, gender equality and empowerment, and agricultural and SMEs development in Rural Areas ” Cantini said.
