The Hague. “The arbitral tribunal set up in The Hague has anticipated today’s decision that the Marina’s Rifleman, Salvatore Girone will return to Italy until the end of the arbitration proceedings, initiated by the Government on Jun 26th 2015. The conditions of his return will be agreed between Italy and India.” This is from a memorandum from the Foreign Ministry. It continues: “The Government has been working to expose the whole affair to international arbitration and in this framework, bringing home the two Rifleman of the Marina. The ordinance paves the way for this result. This is good news for the two Riflemen, their families and for the reasons sustained by the Government and by our lawyers”.
