(May 4th 2016). Kiev is ready for the Italy Baroque festival which has reached its third edition this year. The festival is a joint Italian-Ukrainian project and will begin May 17th until the 28th. The Italian Embassy and the Italian Institute of Culture in Kiev have decided to organise this year’s kermises: an event that includes major cultural and religious institutions in Kiev. It was launched with great success in 2014 for the occasion of the Italian Presidency in the EU. The festival offers a rich and varied programme including 15 different cultural events and musical ensembles (Arcadia Chorus, the Venexiana to name a few) and famous artists such as th4 soprano Maria Khristina Kiehr, Roberta Mameli, and Francesca Lombardi Mazzulli. Once more, the countertenor Raffaele Pe, the violinist Alessandro Ciccolini, cymbalist Luca Oberti, organist Maurizio Salerno, theorbist Luca Pianca and many others. Nancy Milesis Romano is the Artistic director of the Italy Baroque Festival.
