London. The most detailed account of the European human genetic history that lived during the Ice Age was produced by an international team of researchers that are part of a team from the Universities of Siena and Florence (Annamaria Ronchitelli and Stefano Ricci and David Caramelli and Martina Lari respectively). They have analysed of the genomes belonging to fifty individuals who lived in Europe between 45,000 and 7,000 years ago, long before the introduction of agriculture. The results of the survey have multiplied the ancient DNA samples belonging to the European hunter-gatherer populations tenfold. The results have been published in the scientific journal Nature.
