Doha. Italferr, the company of the Italian National Railways (FS) Group Engineering, won the settlement in a grouping with other leading industries in the sector for the “Project Management Consultancy Services” and technical assistance in the works for the tram network in Lusail a city 15km from the capital, Doha. The contract signed with Qatar Railways has a total value of approximately €96million and a duration of 51 months. The contract provides for the completion of the construction works, the realisation of technological systems and plant design, development of maintenance facilities and the provision of rolling stock in the 4 planned service lines totalling 38km including 10 km in a tunnel and 37 stations. With this assignment, Italferr consolidates its presence in Qatar and its the relationship with the customer Qatar Rail with whom they collaborated with for the detailed design of the Red Line of the Doha metro which will link the New Doha International Airport in the West Bay area with the capital.
