(16 May 2016) The Italian solidarity in Sudan achieved another major hit. Under the guidance and fundraising of the Italian Embassy and with the support of some Italian companies working in Sudan, the quota was reached that is set to finance the renovation of the buildings of an important area of the Comboni College in Khartoum, destined to welcome new Italian language and culture courses and cultural events in Sudan. The birth of the Italian Comboni Center (CIC) was celebrated with an event during which the “Celi” diplomas were delivered to the Sudanese students who passed the Italian language test. “The Comboni College in Khartoum is proof the strength of cross-cultural living- said the Ambassador Fabrizio Lobasso – we are indeed in the presence of a key Italian cultural centre, in the heart of a city and a country who lives in a religious context that in some respects is very different from that which inspires the Comboni College. Yet, here we facing proof that living peacefully and with mutual respect, tolerance, in the richness of diversity and dialogue is not only possible, but inevitable. “(Red)
