Colombo – Undersecretary for Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, Benedetto Della Vedova, will visit Sri Lanka from today until May 19, to attend meetings with government officials and the Colombo parliament. The talks focused on the revitalization of relations between the two countries in both political and economic terms, after the outcome of the presidential and parliamentary elections last year and in the framework of resuming dialogue between Sri Lanka and the European Union and improved relations with the Council for Human rights of the United Nations, especially in light of reforms underway. It also included a meeting with members of the Parliamentary Friendship Group between Italy and Sri Lanka. (9Colonne)
