(30 May 2016) An Italian painter who calls Prague, home. His name is Marco Tagliaro, who has been living in the Czech capital for the past four years and in these days is the leading actor of a solo exhibition at the Italian Cultural Institute. Special guests of the inauguration include the Italian Ambassador to Czech Republic Aldo Amati, the director of the Italian Cultural Institute in Prague, Giovanni Scioli, and advisor and curator of Civic Museums of Treviso, Eugenio Manzato who has spoken of the painter who specialises in landscapes and who has developed particular technique based on glazing throughout his career: “his is a painting outside of time, where layers of paint producing a very material effect overlap more “. It is an uncommon technique that requires a high level of patience and perfectionism. It is no coincidence that Manzato called it a “painting of stations”, paintings that are left and resumed over time. The realization of different works, especially oil paintings, has required years of elaboration. (Sis)
