(30 May 2016) The twenty-first edition of the International Exhibition of Milan Triennale has also reached Malta. The content and theme of the exhibition, which will be ” XXI Century. Design after design” were also presented to the public in Valletta by the Director General of the Milan Triennale in person, Andrea Cancellato, at a conference held at the headquarters of the ICI as part of the activities organised in Malta by the Institute of Culture to promote Italian design, the 2016 strategic priority established by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation. Introduced by the ICI Director, Salvatore Schirmo, who contextualized the important Milanese cultural institution in the rich Italian and international landscape, a point of reference in cultural and economic life, the engine of an intense dialogue between companies, Cancellato allowed the audience to walk a journey through time and space through the main stages of the Milan Expo’s history, and clarified how the exhibition intends to investigate the prevalence of planning skills in various countries in conjunction with the development of a global market, but also multidisciplinary design, the weakening of the disciplinary boundaries between architecture, urban planning, design, visual arts, communication and new relationships between these different fields.
