Tirana – Thanks to the work of the Italian association “Let’s save moon bears”, two animal welfare organizations in Tirana, the support of the Albanian Ministry of Agriculture and the CITES Service of the Italian Forestry Corps, a brown bear cub two years of of age names Aurora, was released from the small cage in which he was held, in Albania, and is now housed in a recovery centre of Munich. Three Italian veterinarians (Piero Laricchiuta, Michele Capasso and Marco Campolo), among others rescued the malnourished animal, with no muscle mass and with her fur caked with mud, soil and feces making it difficult to administer the anaesthetic required to insert her microchip and to place her in the transport cage constructed by Leonardo Boccanera from an international transportation company.
