Cairo. ENI has effectuated a new significant discovery of gas in Baltim South West’s exploratory prospect, in its license for the Nile’s Delta. This new discovery occurred through Baltim South West’s 1X well 12 kilometers from the coast in 25-metre-deep water and 10 kilometres north of Nooros camp. It was discovered in July 2015 and is already producing the equivalent of 65,000 barrels of oil per day (boed) and it is estimated to rise up to 120,000 boed in 2016. The well crossed a vertical column of mineralised gas of 120 metres, 62 of which are net width in sandstone dating to the Messinian age with excellent petrophysical properties. (9colonne)
