(June 9, 2016) “Forza Azzurri” is Italy’s cry to support Antonio Conte’s blue team in the European Championship in France – and wherever there Italy is represented in the world including the Italian Embassy in Washington. Italy fans will attend Buffon & Co’s debut match against Belgium in Lyon in the Embassy’s auditorium, on Monday 13. Kick-off is at 21:00 (15:00 in Washington). Since Montpellier’s withdrawal, the coach stressed the importance of the approximately six hundred Italian fans who have welcomed the National Team (“I thank the Italian fans who have followed us here in Montpellier with such enthusiasm: they give us the energy for this European Championship” ) and he pointed out way forward for his players: “We do not look to the optimists or the skeptics and we do not think people surrounding us, only to those who are directly in front of us, and we will work hard to succeed.” They need a boost from all the Italian fans in the world to do so. Including Washington. (Red)
